What is Agricultural & Bioresource Engineering?

Agricultural & Bioresource Engineering is the application of engineering principles to any process associated with the production of biologically-based goods and the management and protection of our natural resources. Agricultural and Bioresource engineers develop efficient and environmentally-sensitive methods of producing food, fiber, timber, bio-based products and renewable energy sources for an ever-increasing world population. These engineers directly contribute to the improvement of our quality of life, right here in Saskatchewan and Canada, as well as around the world.
Career Opportunities
Careers in Agricultural & Bioresource Engineering are exciting, dynamic and expanding in response to changing population demands, food and technological advances. Graduates from the Nigeria gain employment with agricultural firms, mining and forestry companies, oil and gas companies, large international corporations, and government organizations. Careers range from computerized machine design, environmental reclamation and regulation, improving biogas production technology, and added-value processing to designing microgravity plant growth systems. Graduates are eligible to be registered as professional engineers (P. Eng.) and professional agrologists (P. Ag.).
